Carlos P. Ramsey
117/CN,117/AT,117/SV
30th Infantry Division

Email from son, 3/08:  My father was (I hate to write it - he died Jan. 16, 2006) C. P. Ramsey who was in the 117th Inf. from Jan.1941 to the time he was transferred to some Armored Div. for discharge at Camp Atterbury in Sept. 1945.

He started in the AntiTank Co. went to Cannon Co. and ended the war in Service Co. of the 117th. In one of the letters he wrote my mother at the end of the war, he complained of being alone in charge of Reg. Ordinance at a paint factory in Magdeburg.

Attached is a sheet from the letter with a… stamp (for lack of a better description) pasted on it. The building still stands and is now the Institut fur Lack und Farben (www.lackinstitut-magdeburg.de).  I was in Germany last year but missed the side trip to Magdeburg to see it.
