David J. Wright 105th Engineers (C)/C 30th Infantry Division

Battlefield Commission. 2nd Lt. David J. Wright Co. C. Floyd Wright is my brother who passed away in 1978. Both of us were in the 105th Engrs. I will talk about myself later. We were mobilized with the 30th on Sept 16, 1940 as members of Company E, 2nd Battalion 105th Engr. Regt. At that time both of us held the rank of Private When the Regt. became a Bn. David was assigned to Co. C. He remained with Co. C for the duration of the war. He become the 1st Sgt of Co. C. During the war he received a battle field commission as a 2nd Lt and remained with Co. C until the end of the war. He later retired from the Army as a Major.
