Boyd F. Dunn, age 85, of Sycamore, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at his home.

On February 19, 1924 he was born in Bucyrus to Loys B. Dunn and Thelma L. (Carl) Dunn, both deceased. He married Evie M. (Hemmerly) on January 22, 1950 in Forest Ohio, and she preceded him in death on March 20, 2006.

He is survived by his children, Roxann L. (Douglas) Hufford of Sycamore, Michael K. (Amy) Dunn, of Sycamore, Lori A. Dunn and Fiance, Charles O'Donnell, of Hermitage, Tennessee; grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrew Hufford, Brad, Luke and Grant Dunn, Ryan and Josh Kurth; seven great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl B. Dunn, and William E. Dunn.

He retired from Sohio Distributor after 38 years. He attended Sycamore United Methodist Church, a member of Sycamore American Legion Post #250, Sycamore Horseshoe Club, 1942 graduate of Eden High School. He worked on the Chain Gang for 18 years for Mohawk Junior High, Freshman and Reserve Football Games. He was a ground crew for many years to took care of the Legion Field for all softball and baseball games in Sycamore.

He enjoyed collecting Indian Relics, gardening, bowling, playing horseshoe's, hunting mushrooms and attending all kinds of athletic events. He was in the 3rd Army 30th Division, 119th Regiment fighting in the Battle of the Bulge, receiving two Bronze Stars. Lastly he was always there to help his family.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky. Visitation will be Friday June 26, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or Sycamore American Legion Post # 250. A military graveside will be conducted by Sycamore American Legion Post # 250.
