Ralph Borghese 105th Engineers (Combat)/A 30th Infantry Division |
| It is my unpleasant duty to inform you of the death on June 3rd 2008 of Tech. Grade 4 Ralph Borghese who was a member of Co A of the 105th Combat Engineers of the 30th ID during WWII.
The 552 Janes Chapel Rd. Oxford, NJ 07863 address that you have on file is my home address, as I served as his Power of Attorney, and now am his Executor. Ralph was in a nursing home since November 2000. His death was pursuant to the terms of his Advanced Medical Directive since he was unable to be weaned from the respirator that was in place due to complications that resulted form a hospitalization for pneumonia. He is survived by his wife, Marianne Borghese who is a resident at the same nursing home. Ralph received the Bronze Star with V and the Purple Heart while serving with the 30th Infantry Division. He received his citizenship 5 days prior to his discharge on 25 October 1945. At over 80 years of age and virtually unable to speak due to a stroke, Ralph was all fired up and ready to fight again when he heard of the 911 attack. A memorial Service was held on the 13th of June 2008. His cremains are to be interred in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. The optional citation on his marker will read "Citizen and Patriot." 6/24/2008 |
