General Swift is New Commander Of Camp Atterbury

Major General Ira P. Swift, Commanding General of the 25th Infantry Division in Korea, will assume command of VI Corps at Camp Atterbury in July, Secretary of the Army Frank Pace, Jr.., announced yesterday.

He succeeds Major General Paul W. Kendall, whose reassignment to the Far East Command during the latter part of June was recently announced.  General Swift took over command of the 25th Infantry Division in July, 1951. His duty previous to that was as Commander of the 3rd Armored Division at Fort Knox, Ky.  General Swift and General Kendall were graduated from West Point on the same date, October 31. 1918.
