April 14, 1970 - The flight of Apollo 13  commanded by Jim Lovell, was disrupted when an explosion crippled the spacecraft; the astronauts managed to return safely.  "Houston...we've got a problem."

April 30, 1970 - US invades Cambodia.

May 4, 1970 - At Kent State University, Ohio on Monday, a peaceful noontime rally of some 2,000 students was ordered to disburse by guardsmen. Tear gas was fired and guardsmen charged into the crowd. At 12:20 p.m., a small group of Guardsmen suddenly wheeled and unleashed a 13-second volley of gunfire. They fired into a group of protesters, killing four and wounding 9-11 others.

June 23, 1970 - The remains of 19 WW2 Italian and German prisoners of war are moved from CAMP ATTERBURY to Camp Butler, Springfield, Illinois.  Mutz Funeral Home of Edinburg made the arrangements.
