July 10, 1992 - A federal judge in Miami sentenced former Panamanian leader Manuel Noriega, convicted of drug and racketeering charges, to 40 years in prison. However, a judge in March, 1998, cut Noriega's sentence by ten years, meaning he could be eligible for parole in 2000. |
