Headquarters Company

Headquarters Company

Donald R. O'Brien.

I was a Pfc in the Dixie Division, during the Korean War from February 1951 to February 1953 in the Division Headquarters Company.  I was stationed at Fort Jackson.  The General at the time was named Paxton.

This division took part in two maneuvers, Operation Northern Pines in North Carolina and in Operation Longhorn in Fort Hood, Texas.  The only person I can remember is a Benson from Grand Rapids, MI.  He was the company mailman.

The division moved to Camp Atterbury in Indiana in 1952, from which I was discharged in 1953.
