William K. McKain

In the Twingine Times section it mentions a William K. McKain from Cortland in class 43-H.  This is Ken McKain who flew 50 combat missions in a B-24.  Four of these were over Polesti.

After completing 50 missions, he rotated back to the states at Orange Field in Victorville, CA.  He was made an instructor and during a night flight the plane blew up under him.  Hell of an end for a combat pilot.  His son, Kenny, is a friend of mine and donated pictures and a 3-ring binder full of papers, including the flight record of his missions flown.
