| When
the 30th Division was called to active duty on 9/16/1940, the 113th
was a Field Artillery Regiment that consisted of three battalions. Each of
the regimental battalions consisted of an HHB and two firing batteries. 1st
Battalion had batteries A & B, 2d Battalion had batteries C & D and 3d
Battalion had Batteries E & F. There was also a regimental HHB and Service
Battery. On 10/1/1940 the regiment was reorganized to consist of only two
battalions with 3 firing batteries each. 1st then had batteries A, B & C
and 2d Battalion had D, E, & F. The regiment also gained two tank destroyer
batteries which were G & H. Later the regiment service battery was
disbanded and each battalion got it's own service battery. On 2/16/1942 the
113th Regiment was disbanded and 1st Battalion became the 113th FA
Battalion. Having said all of that in my table 113/1/HHB stands for 113th
Regiment, 1st Battalion, Headquarters and Headquarters Battery. Mike
